Addiction as a contaminant in environments

This piece of work seeks to bring to light and focus on a true fact, possibly not satisfactorily settled in most situations through being taken for granted. During the addiction process, relational environments, emotional, cognitive and perception structures, ways of living and looking are being built, not only leading the consumer, as object/subject of the addiction, but all those in their surroundings to develop an existential world, governed and determined by rules, values and norms, that are marked by the addiction itself, in which many pathologies are generated, if I could be allowed the expression, needing a preventive and care response. I call this addictive pollution. The sick family, and each of its members (partners, offspring…), will find themselves inside a world where everything focuses on the consumption, use or/and abuse, dependence and, definitively, the addiction becomes the centre of a vital and shared process, even, paradoxically, in abstinence.
