This article aims to perform an analysis of references on invisible violence to women with
alcohol and drug use.
Gender based violence and substance use are a public health problem. Therefore, there is a
need to observe, explore, design and to implement programmes and specific projects under
the gender perspective, in order to assist women with the identification, prevention and intervention
with psychological violence and the substance misuse context.
The purpose of this bibliographic review is to: 1) Determine the relate and interpretation the
sources consulted based on the binomial of the problematic raised, 2) Analysis of psychological
violence in couples, especially, gaslighting in substance use contexts, 3) making this covert psychological
violence visible, 4) making observational and approach proposals, based on perspectiva
of gender withing in the Drug Dependency Assistance Network.
This article aims to perform a descriptive bibliographic review based on the invisible violence
suffered by women who have a problematic substance use.
